When you out are in nature, watching and enjoying wildlife, do you ever wonder what the animals are saying? I do! Everyone who knows me, knows how much I love all the wildlife and especially how much joy I get from observing, interacting with and painting the deer and the cottontail bunnies! The four handsome and regal mule deer bucks who visit us almost every day for a drink of water and an apple are special. I call them Angelo, Freckles, Groucho and Buttercup. Each one is such an individual – with his own distinct personality and behavior. I have come to learn that mule deer live in generational groups and are very often related to each other. When I see the four together, they certainly act like relatives! I was watching “Freckles” and “Buttercup” one day and I swear they were sharing secrets – if only I knew what those secrets were! Of course, I had to paint them! These paintings are now on display at Rowe Fine Art Gallery here in Sedona. Please stop in and say hello!
