I love doing my landscapes and wildlife, but it is exciting to expand into new areas and to push my creativity. Well, I had so much fun doing this portrait of a friend. I was able to incorporate some of my signature elements (like my red line halo added after this photo) and favorite colors. I was also able to experiment with new colors. As with my wildlife subjects, it was an exciting creative challenge to capture his spirit.

I am very happy with the final portrait. In fact, when I showed it to another friend, I got an immediate commission to do a portrait for her. What a wonderful way to start my day!
