Finished (July 14) – and headed to Ducharme Framing here in Sedona today!!! Love and Loyalty is the theme of this painting called, “I’ve Got Your Back”. The eternally faithful coyote never leaves their partner’s side – sometimes even remaining solo if their partner passes away. DNA studies of offspring have shown that once a coyote finds his or her life’s partner (and unlike other canids) they never stray – ever, not ever. Wow!!! So, what else can this be but love, true love?!!!

This painting is inspired by wildlife photographer and naturalist Gail Halm who for years has observed and documented generations of coyote families. She shares her experiences, images and observations with the thousands of people who follow her work. Fiercely family oriented, the highly intelligent and complex coyote is loyal to their partner and each will protect and care for each other their entire lives. Coyotes find their “soulmate” and partner for life never straying, sometimes remaining solo even if that partner dies. Together through thick and thin, this painting celebrates this beautiful bond as “I’ve Got Your Back”. Oh how beautiful when humans are able to achieve this miracle of life-long, soul-level connection – which comes naturally to the amazing coyote!
