The August issue of Phoenix Home and Garden magazine spotlights “Color Play” on the cover and features a story on how to add colorful art and textures to your environment. I love big, bold color – but it can be kind of scary to add bright colors because things can go very wrong, I know – but, it is so exciting to try!
I find the easiest way is to start with one focal piece. If that focal piece is a work of art (such as the John Nieto featured on the cover of the magazine) you see a perfect example of how this one piece can transform a room. There are so many small ways to build on the pallet – as shown in the picture – pillows, blankets, even plants which can compliment and add to the character of the room.
I love Phoenix Home and Garden magazine and always get great ideas, big and small for my home. In fact, I kind of think my “Red Rock Rooster” works perfectly in a room like the one shown on this cover! Let’s all add great color to light up our world!
