I think the long cold winter time, especially after all the holiday spending, should involve some beautiful new art (to keep our spirits up) – at special collector prices! These three small art pieces are just 5″H x 5″W and they are on archival paper with graphite, ink, acrylic and oil pastel. They are framed in a perfect 10″ x 10″ minimalist black frame. I am taking them over to Rowe Fine Art Gallery this Thursday, January 18, 2024. At $295, I think they will go fast! So if you just have to have one, please call the gallery here in Sedona at 928-282-8877 to reserve! Don’t worry if you don’t see them on Rowe Gallery’s web site, they won’t be up until Thursday! So you (and my Instagram followers) are the first to see them!
About the Art: I probably have thousands of pictures of “Don Coyote” I have taken over the years, but maybe 25 or so favorite photos that I have used over and over as reference photos, each time hoping to capture a slightly different look, a special twinkle in his mischievous eyes or his perfect spirit. I have used different colors and many types of media. This is graphite, ink, acrylic and oil pastels – in beautiful pigments and with his knowing smile. My forever muse, Don Coyote!
And, oh those colors of Cathedral Rock! As with the Grand Canyon, like a prism, the colors appear to change with every passing minute. I just mentioned how I have painted Don Coyote over and over – all from the same handful of favorite reference photos as I try to capture a different aspect of the spirit of Don. The same is true with magical Cathedral Rock. I could paint it a thousand times and still feel there was something else to capture. As I wait for the weather warm up, I am enjoying my many mediums and so much beauty to paint and so many ways to paint it! This little piece includes, graphite, ink, acrylic, oil pastel and oil pastel.
